Some call him "Kid Genius"
Others refer to him as "The Next Steven Spielberg"
But he is known by all as one name, and that is:
"The King"
"The first time anyone has ever called me 'The King' was at
my neighbor Zac's house while we were playing Capture Flag on Halo" -The King
Bob Kaplan is currently a film student. He works part-time as a Ticket Agent, but
the other part of his time he spends working on his true passion, film. Since Bob was two years old he wanted to be a
filmmaker.
"When I was a young kid, I had occasions when I walked arround with
a paper towel role pretending it was a camera." -The King
Bob also has many other talents and hobbies he works into his life. Bob also works
at WDCR: Student Run Radio, the radiostation for Delaware County Community College (DCCC). His show is called "An Hour With
The King". It consists of classic rock and film reviews. He also co-hosts a talk show known as "The Tripod". Which he refers
to it as a "toned down Howard Stern". His co-hosts are: "Mad" Mike McGovern, Pete "The Pickmaster" Giacoponello, and John "J-Fed" McDevitt. The WDCR Radiostation is also where he
met his "partner in crime" EJ Crawford.
"From the moment I shared a microphone with EJ, I knew that this guy knows how to get things moving" -The King
In fact,
the Radiostation is where Bob met a large amount of his TKPC associates. Including Mike "The Downsman" Downs. Who is the brand
new installment to The King Production Company.
"Mike Downs is definitely a genius in disguise" -The King
Bob
and EJ also have a band of their own that originated from WDCR. The band is known as: FEAR the Bobcat!. They are often compared
to Tenacious D, which they both say, "...is a compliment"
"FEAR the Bobcat! is just a joke band, and nothing more. It's not to be
taken seriously, but it is a whole lot of fun" -The King
Right
now, Bob and the others are shooting "Today's Special", but they have many other projects in the oven. For more info on this,
check out the "Future Projects" Page.
